QMUSIC

The brief

Celebrating the local music, QMUSIC’s Big Summer Block Party was a free, all-out blowout event that closed off Fortitude Valley's Warner Street for the ultimate Sunday session and end-of-year party. Featuring QUIVR DJs on the decks, games, an outdoor bar, food stalls and 30 of Queensland’s hottest bands taking to the stage in Valley venues all along the block. Kicking off next year’s 21st BIGSOUND birthday celebrations, the music industry gathered in solidarity to see out a year that sucked (covid) and cast their minds to a better year to come; while music lovers soaked up the best music this sunshine state had to offer.

Coinciding with the event, QMUSIC Concert Care was a safety initiative that incorporated a strong physical presence, on-ground support services, and a highly accessible communication and digital campaign centered around the concept of "Tips for a Top Night Out". Creating assets for social media and their website, to a dedicated safe space, t-shirts and posters, the campaign is to raise awareness and educate our audiences on specific behaviours that constitute sexual harassment, assault, and generally create unsafe spaces. These posters and cubes can still be found around Brisbane venues today.
