SKATE NEPAL
Exhibition

Painted skateboard for Skate Nepal's "A Himalayan Benefit" exhibition.

The event had live bands, with the addition of a small gallery at the back, showcasing 10 illustrated skateboard designs from local artists. These were up for a silent auction in support of the cause. The ultimate goal with the event and Skate Nepal is to bridge skateboarding and arts cultures here to these other communities and create a strong bond.

The board was painted orange then sanded down to give it an authentic looking wood stain, yet also looking like it had been worn in slightly. Acrylic paint was used to paint the final illustration in the centre.

Inspired by local "authorities" when out and about in the streets, this piece really hits home for any skater who has encountered these pesky people.
